Supervision & Management Qualifications

As well as offering qualifications specific to the flooring industry, Floortrain also offer Supervision and Management qualifications. The opportunity to progress up the career ladder is an exciting and rewarding prospect. Supervisor and Management qualifications are available to those with enough experience in the industry who are looking to expand their skills and knowledge.

L3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational work Supervision

​

Overview

​

The Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision qualification has been developed for delivery in a working environment; this means you need to be employed to study this qualification. It has been designed to develop and recognise your skills, knowledge and competence so that you can work in Occupational Work Supervision within the construction industry or progress onto further learning.

​

You will be assessed against a set of performance and knowledge statements which have been derived from National Occupational Standards for your occupational area. You will be assessed by an occupationally competent and qualified assessor whose job is to work with you and help you complete your qualification. 

 

This qualification supports the learner to attain enabling, fundamental and transferable practical skills with associated underpinning knowledge.

​

The learner will learn key practical skills and knowledge in these mandatory units:

​

  • Confirming Work Activities and Resources for an Occupational Work Area in the Workplace

  • Developing and Maintaining Good Occupational Working Relationships in the Workplace

  • Confirming the Occupational Method of Work in the Workplace

  • Implementing and Maintaining Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace

  • Co-ordinating and Organising Work Operations in the Workplace

 

The learner will also learn key practical skills and knowledge in two of the following optional units:

  • Allocating and Monitoring the Use of Plant, Machinery or Equipment in the Workplace

  • Monitoring Progress of Work Against Schedules in the Workplace

  • Confirming Work Meets Quality Standards in the Workplace

  • Implementing Procedures to Support the Team's Performance in the Workplace

  • Co-ordinating and Confirming Dimensional Control Requirements of the Work in the Workplace

  • Contributing to the Circulation of Construction Related Project Information in the Workplace

 

Entry Requirements and duration

The minimum age requirement for this qualification is 16+; there are no further entry requirements to take this qualification. This means that you can undertake this qualification without any previous training or qualifications in this subject area.

​

Typically 3 to 6 months depending on your time management.

Upon successful completion, you will receive a recognised certificate of competence and will be eligible to apply for a Gold Supervisors CSCS card.

 

L4 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Supervision

Overview

​

The Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Supervision -Building and Civil Engineering qualification has been developed for achievement in a real workplace environment which means you need to be employed to undertake this qualification. 

 

This qualification enables you, the learner, to demonstrate and recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate your competence in a real workplace environment so you can work in Building and Civil

Engineering within the construction industry. 

​

You will be assessed against a set of performance and knowledge statements which have been derived from National Occupational Standards for your occupational area. You will be assessed by an occupationally competent and qualified assessor whose job is to work with you and help you complete your qualification.

This qualification supports the learner to attain enabling, fundamental and transferable practical skills with associated underpinning knowledge.

  • Assessing and Recommending Work Methods for Carrying Out Site Operations in the Workplace

  • Planning Activities and Resources to Meet Work Requirements in the Workplace

  • Coordinating and Organising the Control of Work in the Workplace

  • Controlling Work Progress Against Agreed Programmes in the Workplace

  • Allocating and Monitoring the Use of Plant, Equipment or Machinery in the Workplace

L6 NVQ Diploma Construction Site Management

The Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Management -Building and Civil Engineering qualification has been developed for achievement in a real workplace environment which means you need to be employed to undertake this qualification.

This qualification enables you, the learner, to demonstrate and recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate your competence in a real workplace environment so you can work as a Construction Site manager within the construction industry.

This means that you can undertake this qualification without any previous training or qualifications in this subject area. However, we recommend that time gained experience will be an advantage.

 

Typically 6 to 18 months depending on your time management.

L7 NVQ Diploma in Construction Senior Management

​

Overview

​

The Level 7 NVQ Diploma in Construction Senior Management qualification has been developed for achievement in a real workplace environment which means you need to be employed to undertake this qualification. 

​

This qualification enables you, the learner, to demonstrate and recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate your competence in a real workplace environment so you can work as a manager within the construction industry. 

​

You will be assessed against a set of performance and knowledge statements which have been derived from National Occupational Standards for your occupational area. You will be assessed by an occupationally competent and qualified assessor whose job is to work with you and help you complete your qualification. 

​

This qualification supports the learner to attain enabling, fundamental and transferable practical skills with associated underpinning knowledge.

​

The Learner will learn key practical skills and knowledge in:

 

Mandatory Units: 

​

  • Manage teams in construction

  • Lead and participate in meetings in construction management

  • Provide ethical advice, judgement and service in construction management

  • Develop self and others in construction management

 

Optional Units – Group A:

​

  • Prepare and agree a brief and development programme in construction management

  • Manage design development and processes in construction management

  • Assess and evaluate the environmental impact of developments in construction management

  • Evaluate sustainable resources and requirements

  • Manage marketing and customer service in construction organisations

 

Optional Units – Group B:

​

  • Establish project procurement arrangements in construction management

  • Implement strategic sourcing partnerships in construction management

  • Manage procurement processes in construction

  • Prepare and submit estimates, bids and tenders in construction management

  • Ensure that contracts are prepared, negotiated and concluded in construction

  • Control organisational and project income and expenditure in construction management

 

Optional Units – Group C:

​

  • Control projects outcomes in construction management

  • Evaluate and progress the resolution of disputes in construction management

  • Manage project completion in construction management

  • Manage project risks and opportunities in construction

  • Manage project processes in construction

  • Manage project evaluation and feedback in construction

 

Entry Requirements and duration

 

The minimum age requirement for this qualification is 16+; there are no further entry requirements to take this qualification. This means that you can undertake this qualification without any previous training or qualifications in this subject area. However, we recommend that time gained experience will be an advantage and you will be working as a Senior Project Manager.

​

Duration 12 to 24 month’s depending on your time management.
