About Us

Floortrain GB Ltd was formed in 2008 due to a chronic lack of
provision available for Floorcovering Occupations. Originally
based in Rotherham, the company’s Head Office and Training
Centre is now located in Doncaster, South Yorkshire and since
2013 the company has expanded to also operate from a satellite
centre in Walthamstow, East London.

Our main focus is Apprenticeships and NVQ's in floor laying to
develop the standard of the flooring community and to provide
those within the trade the opportunity to be qualified and
recognised at the appropriate skill level.
​
We use funding from the Skills Funding Agency and European Social Fund to help those eligible achieve qualifications at no or little cost. With recent changes to funding however, we are having to find other ways to provide opportunities to those outside of the current funding criteria.

Our Apprenticeships are focused on expanding the work force to create more floorlayers within the industry entering the trade through a recognised qualification route. Please see the Flooring Apprenticeships tab for further details.

We have recognised the stringent rules relating to CSCS and the barriers this could cause to a person working in the flooring industry without the appropriate qualification. Our NVQ's are aimed at skilled/semi-skilled floor layers, to ensure they have the opportunity to receive the required NVQ in order to comply with site rules and CSCS guidelines.
