Employer Grants

The government is committed to an apprenticeship programme that supports young people and recognises that for employers who take on young apprentices aged 16-18 years old, there are some additional costs associated with supporting them in the workplace.

From May 2017, companies will be entitled to a £1,000 incentive payment for recruiting and supporting a 16-18 year old apprentice or 19-24 year old with an Education, Health and Care plan. This will be paid to you in 2 instalments - £500 after 3 months and £500 after 12 months.

There is currently an additional incentive payment available of up to £3,000 to employers who take on an apprentice of any age, so long as they are employed and enrolled with Floortrain any time after 1st April 2021 and before 30th September 2021.

In order to be eligible for funding and incentive payments, employers will be required to set up an apprenticeship digital account which you can do Here. This is where you will manage funding and apply for payments as well as being able to advertise for apprenticeship vacancies.

Employers that pay into to CITB levy may be entitled to claim further grants, please visit https://www.citb.co.uk/grant/ for more information.
